Whedon show renewed shock!

Is it true?

Dollhouse gets a second season?

In fact, "Dollhouse" might very well be the lowest-rated in-season scripted drama to ever get a renewal on a major broadcast network.

Well I guess that's an achievement of sorts. And it can't be worse than Firefly.

He may have repitched it.

But Whedon might be a winner with the economic downturn. Terminator and Kath & Kim were renewed because it was cheaper than piloting new shows that already were too risky. Plus, Whedon may have sold it on DVD presales for Dollhouse.

Whedon certainly seems to have an amazing capacity for persuading people to keep funding his projects. Well it amazes me anyway.

It does. Parts of it are rather good (as long as you don't mind that there is no central character at all).

I stuck out the first four episodes in hope they would start exploring the truly mind-blowing consequences, both scientific and moral, of their premise. With episode 5, they did. Not up to the season finale yet, but so far they haven't stopped or flinched. And for a show where the characters are either effectively unconscious or completely unconsciable, there's a surprising amount of development...
