Beware the Creeper!

Iain's life as a psychotic crimefighter

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

was a day full of theatre.

First off we went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at the NIDA Parade Studio. It was an all woman production with graduates from the Sydney Theatre School. Our interest in it was that Bottom (and Hermia - there were only seven actors in the case) was played by Nadine Charles - the assistant director of Gone Bush.

It was a very good small scale production with excellent performances from the young cast and great innovative direction from Matthew Pigott (who's next production I'm looking forward to seeing.)

In the evening we went to see The Government Inspector starring Darren Gilshenan and William Zappa, produced by the Bell Shakespeare company and directed by John Bell. And while it was technically flawless and the performances (esp as the two actors were playing about 14 characters) were great, but it just wasn't as entertaining as A Midsummer Night's Dream. I cracked a smile a few times, but overall I found it's lowbrow nature (admittedly a feature of the play and not a bug) and Gilshenan's constant mugging tiresome.

And to close - here's a short movie I made yesterday. Shot with a Nokia 6120 and edited in iMovie:

The moving mountain ship is awesome, and the Nick Cave track a great choice for it.

I was a little disappointed with the plot development

So you were disappointed in the plot? Guess that's what happens when I fly solo
